Regular People, Extraordinary God

Visiting a church can be intimidating.
But here, you can relax…

None of us “have it all together”  — We are all a work in progress!

We’re not evaluating you  — When you walk in, we’re glad to see you! Don’t worry about having to “measure up” or “fit in.” Our family is very diverse, and you are welcome here.

We’re not very religious  — Sound strange coming from a church? Well, religious systems are confusing, complicated, and disconnected from real life - we strive to cultivate a rich relationship with Jesus Christ.

We speak plain English  — We worship Jesus, believe and study the Bible, and encourage each other, all in terms easy to connect to everyday life.

We simply believe, and teach the Bible — No pointless tradition, no archaic languages, no “droning” irrelevant lectures, or pious nonsense. We open the Bible and apply it to real life in the 21st century!

Many of us are new  — Big Island Baptist is a growing church; we’re all getting to know each other and finding our place in this body of loving, Christian friends.

We are just regular people  — “Religious” people can come off contrived, artificial, or argumentative. You won’t find that here. We're just normal people, with an extraordinary God... he has shown us so much love through the salvation that's in Jesus Christ, and it's our joy to share that love with you!
